Vavoom...Cutie from Kraftin' Kimmee

One last post with a cute and sassy card for my "Handsome Hubby"--all the way in Afghanistan!
Boy, I sure do miss him...especially in the evenings. He'd be at work all day--even if he was close to home. So, I've decided to fill my evenings with fun crafting and creating! The image is a fun one from Kraftin' Kimmee and my Hubby has taken a "liking" to the Kimmee images--LOL! I used copics (and made my own 'fishnet-style' stockings on the image !), vintage lace, and some buttons from Papertrey Ink.

Christmas Cutie from Bildmalarna

Here's another cutie card, made for some gals on SCS! I chose a cute Bildmalarna image of Mimosa and tweaked it into a Christmas image. I used Copics, SU Lattice die, and some SU papers from my stash.

Saturated Canary~ 1-2-3 Challenge

I *LOVE* Saturated Canary images!! I ordered this digi and just had to use it ASAP--which is really a big deal for me...cuz I tend to hang on to things for waaay to long before I use them.
I colored the image, "Pink Punkette" with Copics and paired it with sassy purples and black.
I happily created these cards for some ladies in a "Sassy/Bling" swap and then found the SC Challenge blog!! I'm entering the card into the Saturated Canary Challenge #3 : title 1-2-3. I've got my 1 image, 2 papers and 3 embellies. Woo Hoo!

Valentines Day, 2011
Since my sweet husband is away in Afghanistan, I decided to occupy myself on Valentines weekend by re-finishing a dresser, mirror and lamp I purchased at a local garage sale.
After much sanding, applying primer 4 times, and painting the entire set white 3 times...the final design emerged. I created a "dollhouse" theme, with detailed painting on all side of the dresser. I choose pink, green, purple and a bit of blue for the color scheme--colors I already had in my paint stash for crafting.

The mirror was the hardest, as it was not purchased with the dresser, and I wanted it to come out like it was part of a matched set. I bought a couple of premade pieces of "Crown Molding" from Home Depot--glued them on, and painted everything together. I really love the way it came out, and Aimee is so happy with the results.

See more pics below :-)

Aimee's New Room!

Recycle...Reuse....Re-purpose:
Since Aimee turned 4 years old, I've been wanting to get her some furniture of her very own. I also want to follow my New Year Resolution--Recycle, Reuse, Re-purpose.

New Lamp: So, I found an old lamp at a local garage sale for $2.00. I let the ugly thing sit in my garage until I found my creative spirit, and then I gave it a complete 'face-lift'.
Lamp Cost: $2.00
Materials: $ 6.48 ($2.98 for cloth material, $3.50 for feather boa at Walmart, re-purposed for a lamp.)
Total Price: $8.48

New Dresser: Found dresser at different garage sale...$10.00. Old white paint, kinda beat-up! Just my style :-)
Dresser Cost: $10.00
Materials: $ 12.50 ($6.00 for sandpaper, $2.50 for paint primer Walmart)
Total Price: $22.50

Effect: PRICELESS--Such a magical start to Aimee's Princess Room! She love it and is so happy, and even puts her own laundry away in her new drawers!!

Shabby Chic Circus Fun

I had so much fun making this card!! I love the color combination of orange and hot pink and the latest Stampin' Up! Designer Paper is right-up my alley... Now, I have to admit that I made this card for the Mojo Monday challenge last week and then my 4 year-old got sick and I never got to post it--DRAT!! Oh well, there's always next time :-)

Recipie~
I began with "Raspberry Lemonade" DP from Stampin' Up! --and you just can't go wrong with it!! I stamped the Elephant image from Animal Stories and mounted it on the purple dottd paper...Next, I used more DP for a strip of distressed orange--a fun shabby touch made with paper instead of ribbon! Primas with Dew Drop centers and distress inking finish off the front. The sentiment is from SU's "Short & Sweet" set and is stamped on the same distressed orange DP and framed with SU's Hodgepodge Hardware. Inside, a fun "ball" awaits, courtesy of Circle Circus...such a sweet, shabby card in bright summer colors!!!

Just for Fun-- Funky Elephant

I just LOVE all the new Stampin' Up! goodies...the catalog, the new "In Colors", the new sets, the Designer Papers, "OH MY"...my wish list a GINORMOUS :-)
Fun Inspiration~
I came across some old pics of my Grandmother on a trip to Morocco--kinda random, I know. I've wanted to scrapbook those pics for years and just never had any inspiration. Until now!! The new "In Colors" are amazing...Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, and Crushed Curry combine with the Circle Circus and Animal Stories sets to make a fun card with an "EXOTIC" feel. I made 5 scrapbook layouts for my Grandmother's scrapbook--whoo hoo! This card was made with the leftover 'scraps' and it is so much fun!
Recipie~
I used a base of white card stock to which I added a layer of Dusty Durango paper, and two layers of the yellow in the Raspberry Lemonade DP from Stampin' Up!. Then I cut 3 squares of the Raspberry dot paper, mounted white cardstock and stamped the Elephant (Animal Stories) in Dusty Durango and the Circles (Circle Circus) in Rich Razzleberry. The inside of the card has a few more fun circles and some DP to tie it in, and the final touch was some shimmery ribbon from Maya Road. This card makes me smile every time I look at it!
